Arrival in Djerba. Transfer to hotel in Houmt Souk.

Departure by bicycle towards Toujaine via roads and tracks little used by cars, winding between the mountains and valleys of Matmata. Passing through valleys of olive and fig trees, discovering traditional farming techniques. Picnic lunch amidst the fields. Continue to Toujaine for a short break with panoramic views and a visit to the Berber village. Continue to Zmerten where we will visit a museum of local traditions. Departure for Kef Ennsoura, the highest peak of the Dahar Mountains at 713 m, and exploration of the World War II fortifications with a panoramic view over the entire Jfara plain. Descent of over 300 m from the Dahar plateau to the Jfara plain. Picnic lunch. Crossing the canyon to reach the Ksar Hallouf oasis, then ascent to Zammour. Overnight stay in a rural guesthouse, Dar Ennaeem, in Zammour Distance: 50 km Elevation gain: 710 m Difficulty: Moderate

Departure from Dar Ennaeem and ascent towards Mount Mzenzen, then descent towards Ksar Joamaa. Route towards Ksar Khrachfa and then to Ksar Hadada, with several stops at sites to discover dinosaur bones from the Jurassic period. Picnic lunch. Arrival at Ksar Hadada and exploration of the Star Wars filming location. Passage through the Beni Ghedir Valley where we will discover dinosaur footprints on a petrified beach from the Jurassic period. Arrival in the town center of Ghomrassen and tasting of traditional pastries. Traditional breakfast in Ghomrassen (egg fritters) Departure by bicycle to Ksar Elmourabtine, the most beautiful of the region's ksour (fortified villages). Continue by bicycle to the famous Berber village of Chenini. Visit to the Mosque of the Seven Sleepers, the traditional olive oil mill, and a stroll through the citadel. Continue to the Berber village of Guermassa, the village of ghosts, and then towards the Limes Tripolitanus, the Roman Empire's border marked by Esskifa, a gateway between two mountains that once separated the Romanized lands from the lands of the Barbarians. After an energizing breakfast, we resume our adventures along a track crossing a pastoral plain. We have the opportunity to meet shepherds with their flocks of sheep until we reach the first dunes at the edge of the desert. Continue to Ksar Ghilan, a small oasis lost in the desert.
