Day 1 Full-Day Tour to Chenini & Tataouine

Tataouine

Located in the far south of Tunisia, Tataouine is a symbolic gateway to the desert region. Departure from your hotel in Djerba or Zarzis via the famous Roman Road heading towards Tataouine. Photo stop at Chahbania salt lake. Upon arrival in Tataouine,a town once known for its former French penal colony and which inspired the name “Tatooine” in Star Wars ,visit the local market and city center.

Ksar Ouled Soltane

Continue to Ksar Ouled Soltane, a Berber fortified granary considered one of the best preserved in southern Tunisia. This impressive complex of stacked storage chambers (ghorfas) showcases the architectural ingenuity and historical depth of Berber heritage. Photo stop included.

Chenini

Continue to Chenini, a stunning Berber village perched on a rocky ridge, crowned by an ancient white mosque overlooking the desert plains. Lunch in Chenini. Guided tour of the village to explore its troglodyte dwellings and rich history.

Ksar Hadada

Departure to Ksar Hadada, a historic ksar that served as a filming location for scenes from the famous Star Wars saga. Photo stop. Return to Djerba via the Roman Road. Arrival at your hotel in the evening.
